I'll tell you right now the officials sure as hell weren't officiating. Alas the lack of intelligence and competence in officials at college games are system wide, in all sports. This incident is just the icing on the cake.They don't need to be officiating if they can miss something like these attacks or ignore it and not CARD the bitch on any of them! Seriously it needs to stop. As far as the witch from NM she needs to be held up as an object lesson by coaches everywhere. Any number of us on the bar and elsewhere have foreseen a coming economic collapse. Some think the Healthcare bill will be the straw that broke the camels back. Some think it'll come regardless. Think about it..The current Pres and Congress have spent and passed bills to spend upwards of 8Trillion[if the HC bill passes but I'm still betting its more] dollars and the President hasn't even been in office 9 months yet! It's really staggering to think about, since at the moment the national debt stands at just a shade under 12 trillion dollars! Which means if my calculation is right..it'll BE at 12 before Halloween.

What the hell is so hard to comprehend for people that YOU CAN NOT SPEND like this and expect the system to survive. We are gonna be so screwed by this and many things. The current 'just in time' delivery system for well....everything, is going to fuck us right up the ass. Every article I've read on the subject means that stores will run out of everything in about 3-5 days in the ensuing panic. This includes gasoline, people. I need to get a garden in this spring, cost for materials and plants be damned. Right now I'm wishing money hadn't been so goddamn tight over the summer. Or the garden would be in already, and probably still producing at that.
Start slowly, bit by bit, getting your shit together people; because it's going to get UGLY in a rapid fire hurry. I give it 18 months at the outside. Probably closer to 12.

"What about the election cycle of 2010?", you ask? It will not mean a goddamn thing. The damage will almost certainly be too much; and anything we can do 'too little too late', by that point. sigh... that's assuming we can elect people who are worth a damn.

I'm about halfway through it. As always..Ringo and Kratman deliver the goods. This one is a little different in that it's not the usual, shoot em up, 'oooh an earth shattering KABOOM? cool!' romp. This one is more...thoughtful which also works..stretches your mind a bit. 5 out of 5.


Now having said that...there is a creature in the Aldenata verse called an Abat. Everytime I see that word I hark back to Abbot and Costello "HEY Abbooooooot!" I can't help myself I start to giggle. The other side of the coin is the curse in the novels 'abat shit' I've said that a few times this morning because of the weather.

Mr. Ringo did not write this book, Mr Kratman did. Once again Mr. Ringo is taking credit for some else's work. I knew up front that this book was written by Mr. Kratman and I had no idea what his works were like so I read one of his other books. Thats what made me decide to go ahead and purchase this one. Mr. Kratman is a talented writer who I would not hesitate to read again.

But for Mr. Ringo to have his name on this book at all is bogus.

One of the things I had problems with in this book were all the flash backs. I know he wanted to let the readers know what was going on in the main characters mind. But he could have done it in one chapter and not carried it on for the whole book.

Also the ending was very weak. Id have to say that unless you are a fan of the other books in this series, don't bother to read this one. While the story can be read on it's own. I wouldnt bother. Thats not to say that Mr. Kratman is not a good author, he is, just not with this one.

Mr. Ringo should write his own novels in his own style and not put his name on something he did not write.

Who do you think[if Ringo and the Col work it the same way as Ringo and Weber]does the general barebones outlines so the Col can write it? Weber and Ringo work the same way. B. Okay he got something right..Col. Kratman IS talented writer. It's why I own everything with his name on it.

Dipped, Stripped and Dead by Elise Hyatt.

Characters are entertaining..especially the son of the main character. I particularly love the scene in which the main character Candyce "DYCE" Dare is out on the main step having a disagreement with her shitball of an ex-husband. About their son Enoch.[Enoch? Enoch? daddy needs to be strung up by the balls with rusty razor wire for that one]See daddy thinks that speechifying wise...little E isn't developing properly or fast enough; and wants to take E to a therapist. Since other than around his mother he doesn't say much. Anyway Dyce and the EX are out on the front step 'discussing' E when who should come out the door but the subject of the discussion. The only words out of his mouth when he see's his father? "Oh holy fuck!" Dyce at this point just looks at her ex as if to say "SEE! I TOLD you he can speak!" I damn near died laughing at that one.
The author does use the same place setting and a few character names/places from another series she's written under a different pen name. A crossover which I could have done without; at least the character cross over anyway. That little nitpick aside Dipped, Stripped and Dead is a witty, fun entertaining read. I give it a 5 out of 5. I'm thoroughly looking forward to the next one.

SO I can but assume that AIM has gone blivet again. which truly pisses me off. Whats worse is I lost the link for the IRC applet for chat we have. Edit 140am.: a few minutes after I posted this I got hold of one of the fellas and then fired up AIM again. It then decided it wanted to work..WTF? Needless to say I got into barchat for what it was worth. kinda quiet.

I may end up being off line for a while. It looks like the rain we were supposed to get two weeks ago finally arrived ahead of the cool front. It's pouring as I type, though the weather geeks say the worst won't hit until the front actually hits Houston. They also say we can possibly look forward to rainfall amounts of 2-4" an hour in some of the storm cells. [We did get that much south of us in Colorado county..4" in an hour out of one small isolated cell. Yesterday.] So needless to say if Houston proper and my southwestern sub city of it Sugarland get that much...*shrug* They don't call Houston, "The Bayou City" for nothing. I live about ohhhh...about 60yds from the banks of one. Not expecting it but, if this is like what the weather geeks predicted for the next..2-5 days? Oh joy. We needed the rain we're still short for the year. So I can live with it so long as we don't flood out.
